On June 13, 2025, the "2nd Advanced Training Program for Macao's Appropriate Diversified Economic Development", hosted by CUFE Business School, was successfully held. Guided by the Beijing Liaison Department of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) and the Beijing Office of the Government of the Macao Special Administrative Region, this training program aimed to leverage the top-tier educational resources of Beijing, accurately serve Macao's "1+4" strategy for appropriate diversified economic development, and cultivate high-level economic management talents with an international perspective and cutting-edge knowledge for Macao.
On the morning of June 13, the opening ceremony of the training program was held. Attendees included Chen Binkai, Vice President of CUFE; Ge Jianxin, Director of the International Cooperation Department and Director of the Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs Office of CUFE; Zhang Yifeng, Vice Minister of the Beijing Liaison Department of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Macao SAR; Liang Jiezhi, Director of the Beijing Office of the Government of the Macao SAR; Si Chen, Director of the Exchange Division of the Beijing Liaison Department of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Macao SAR; Zhu Sen, First-level Researcher of the Exchange Division of the Beijing Liaison Department of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Macao SAR; Chen Qingfei, President of the Macao Scholars Development Association; and Wen Linjian, Chairman of the Macao Scholars Development Association. The opening ceremony was hosted by Professor Lin Song, Dean of CUFE Business School and Director of the MBA Education Center.
Chen Binkai, Vice President of CUFE, pointed out that in the face of Macao's new blueprint for "1+4" appropriate diversified economic development, it is necessary to pool wisdom, deepen research, and cultivate talents. He put forward four suggestions to the participants: cherish opportunities and focus on learning; focus on cutting-edge knowledge and apply what they have learned; strengthen exchanges and deepen friendships; and have a sense of national responsibility and take on missions. He also encouraged the participants to transform the tradition of "loving the motherland and loving Macao" into a driving force for development, and integrate their personal ideals into the development of Macao and the cause of national construction.
Zhang Yifeng, Vice Minister of the Beijing Liaison Department of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Macao SAR, emphasized that the courses offered in this training program, such as financial technology, digital finance, and Hengqin-Macao medical cooperation, are closely aligned with the central government's new requirements for Macao's development. He hoped that the participants would deeply understand the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's speech during his inspection of Macao in December last year; deeply reflect on the path to promote Macao's appropriate diversified economic development; urged the training program to adhere to the orientation of serving young people and help the growth of Macao's youth; and encouraged the participants to not only acquire knowledge but also foster a patriotic sentiment, inherit the core value of "loving the motherland and loving Macao", and contribute to the Chinese-style modernization and national rejuvenation.
Liang Jiezhi, Director of the Beijing Office of the Government of the Macao SAR, expressed gratitude to the relevant central government departments and CUFE for their support in talent cultivation for Macao. The continuous holding of the training program reflects the country's care for Macao's long-term development. She encouraged the participants to cherish the opportunity, study in depth, bring cutting-edge knowledge and experience back to Macao, better support the construction of the Hengqin Guangdong-Macao In-depth Cooperation Zone, connect with the "Belt and Road" Initiative, promote the innovative development of industries such as sports and finance, and contribute to the prosperity and stability of the SAR.
Closely centering on Macao's actual development needs and national strategic arrangements, CUFE Business School carefully designed the training curriculum. Professor Wang Yuxiong (with the course "Sports Industry: Global Perspective and Chinese Path") and Professor Zhang Ning (with the course "Fintech Innovation and New Model of Hengqin-Macao Industrial Collaborative Development") gave wonderful lectures to the participants. The training adopted diverse forms: in addition to classroom teaching, the participants were also organized to visit the CUFE History Museum, realizing the in-depth integration of theoretical knowledge and practical insights.
Outstanding participants from all walks of life in Macao fully engaged in the training with high enthusiasm for learning. During the closing exchange, the participants generally stated that the training program had cutting-edge content, authoritative teachers, and well-organized arrangements. It greatly broadened their horizons, updated their knowledge systems, inspired their development ideas, deepened their understanding of national strategies, and promoted in-depth exchanges between professionals from Beijing and Macao.Qu Chuying, Secretary-General of the Macao Scholars Development Association and representative of the participants, said that Macao's future lies in diversified development, and young people are the vital force driving change. She stated that she would take this training as a starting point to exchange ideas, build consensus, and transform the learning achievements into practical actions to promote Macao's appropriate diversified economic development.
